WEDNESDAY March 28 COLD WAR: 50's and 60's

DUE: 1) Read the "Overview" of Major Cold War Policies on p 936 of OM. How do these demonstrate our "containment" pollicy?
2) Read from the middle of Ch. 16 "A People's War?" in Zinn, People's History of US, (bottom of p. 415 in my copy, but 18 pages into the chapter) from "True, the war then ended quickly" to the end of the chapter (approximately the last 20 pages of this chapter). What historiographical viewpoint is Zinn's perspective? What evidence do you have to support your response?
FRIDAY March 30 TRUMAN, EISENHOWER AND JFK: CONTRASTING STYLE AND CONTENT
DUE: pp. 939-942 in OM on Truman. Take notes on major features of his presidency and the 1948 election, then read pp.958-961, 972-979, on Eisenhower (take notes) and 993-999 on JFK (take notes) all in OM
